Catalunya Van Life
A Barcelona photographer’s 3 days of Advantura with a red VW Camper van
Part One
I have been an adventurer my entire life; Growing up around camp fires, sleeping in caves and exploring deserts and woodlands. So when I was asked to go on a photographic adventure to capture some promotional shots of Advantura’s classic red VW camper van, nicknamed Tomatina, I jumped at the chance even though I knew it would have to be shot around the impressive old Catalunya village of Siurana which sits atop a vast plateau near Prades, where temperatures were dropping below freezing in the night.
This series of shots tells the story of exploring of the most beautiful natural areas of Catalunya with Niall Rauh, Savannah Van Block, and Miriam Ortiz.
Siurana is beautiful stone-built, cobbled streeted village that is perched above a fresh water reservoir. Its truly a uniquely situated Catalan wonder.
The dramatic cliffs it sits on are great for climbers and photographers visiting Catalunya.
Rock climbers love the cliffs that tower about the river, popular with canyoneers, the land around is used for producing grapes for cava and wine. The river leads down to the big Siurana reservoir where you can rent kayaks and swim.
